Shopper Agreement

Last updated 2026-07-01

This Agreement applies to anyone registering as a personal shopper on Shop4Me. It supplements, and doesn't replace, the general Terms of Service.

1. Independent contractor status

As a shopper, you are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner of Shop4Me. You choose which orders to accept and when to be available — there's no minimum hours requirement.

You're responsible for your own tax obligations arising from income earned through the platform.

2. Vetting and account status

Your application is reviewed before you can accept orders. We may request identity documents as part of this review.

We may suspend your shopper account for repeated order cancellations, customer complaints, or violations of the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

3. Fulfilling an order

Once you accept an order, shop for the listed items at the assigned store, following the customer's substitution preference if an item is unavailable.

Snapshot prices are recorded automatically for catalog items; for any free-text item, use your best judgment on quantity and price and note it for the customer.

Mark the order ready for pickup only once every item has been found, substituted, or marked unavailable.

4. Payment

Your commission is calculated as a percentage of the order total, on a tiered scale based on order size — the current rates are shown in your Account screen.

Payouts run daily via Paystack Transfer to the bank account you provide. You're responsible for keeping your bank details accurate and up to date.

5. Conduct in-store

Represent yourself professionally while shopping on a customer's behalf, and follow the store's own policies while on their premises.

Shop4Me is not responsible for any dispute between you and a store regarding your conduct while shopping.
