Driver Agreement
Last updated 2026-07-01
This Agreement applies to anyone registering as a delivery driver on Shop4Me. It supplements, and doesn't replace, the general Terms of Service.
1. Independent contractor status
As a driver, you are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner of Shop4Me. You choose which deliveries to accept and when to go online — there's no minimum hours requirement.
You're responsible for your own vehicle, fuel, insurance, and any permits or licenses required to operate it, as well as your own tax obligations arising from income earned through the platform.
2. Vetting and account status
Your application is reviewed before you can accept deliveries, including your vehicle type and license plate. We may request identity and vehicle documents as part of this review.
We may suspend your driver account for repeated cancellations, unsafe driving reports, customer complaints, or violations of the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
3. Location sharing while delivering
While you have an active delivery, the app shares your live location with the customer so they can track their order, and with us to maintain a route history for support and safety purposes.
Location sharing stops automatically once the order is marked delivered, or when you go offline between deliveries.
4. Fulfilling a delivery
Once you accept a delivery, collect the packed order from the store and deliver it to the address shown, following any delivery notes the customer left.
Mark the delivery picked up when you leave the store, and delivered once you've handed it to the customer.
5. Payment
Your commission is calculated as a percentage of the order total, on a tiered scale based on order size — the current rates are shown in your Account screen.
Payouts run daily via Paystack Transfer to the bank account you provide. You're responsible for keeping your bank details accurate and up to date.
6. Road safety
Obey all applicable traffic laws. Never use your phone to interact with the app while driving — pull over safely first.
Shop4Me is not responsible for traffic violations, accidents, or vehicle damage incurred while making a delivery.
